Welcome to the Séamus Malekafzali Substack.

Hey guys, it’s Séamus. It has become clear to me that there is a lot of clamoring out there for more in-depth analysis of Middle East issues for an English-speaking audience, but lots of things hamper that desire to be informed, to bypass propaganda, and to know the full story. My goal (hopefully) is to bridge that gap that is blockaded by different languages and obfuscating state interests and to bring the stories of the MENA region and the Global South at large to you, the reader.

This page will feature all the write-ups, all the analyses, all the perspectives that one might want that other media outlets can’t cover or simply won’t cover. Updates on politics, diplomatic crises, uprisings, foreign interference, regime change operations, will all be featured here.

Unfortunately, doing interviews, traveling to where the story is, and gathering information all costs money. As much as I would like to be able to do this all for free and disseminate it for free as well, capitalism is a cruel beast, and I must play by its rules. For the low, low price of $5 per month, you can subscribe to this Substack and get exclusive articles and support the journalistic endeavors I’m trying to undertake.
